Stelios Hourmouziadis was born in Athens, in 1973. He studied Law at the Athens University, and Italian Language and Literature at the “Aristotle” University, Thessaloniki. He also studied classical piano and music at the Greek Conservatory, Athens. As of 2014 he is a PhD candidate in Translation Studies at the KU Leuven, Belgium. He speaks and writes in six languages. He often translates from and to most of them. In 2001 he entered the Greek Diplomatic Service and has been working ever since for the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Apart from Athens, he served at the Greek Embassy in Berlin and the Greek Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels. As of February 2018 he serves as Consul General of Greece in Sao Paolo, Brazil. He writes prose and poetry. His first collection of poems, entitled “Βερολίνο-Βρυξέλλες” [Verolino-Vryxelles], appeared in June 2017 by Perispomeni Editions.
