Olympia Karagiorga was born in 1934 in Alexandria, Egypt. She studied Sociology in The American University of Cairo. She continued her studies in the Stanford University (U.S.A) from where she graduated with MΑ in Creation Writing and English and American Literature. Her work includes seven collections of poetry and a number of translations (Oscar Wilde, D.H Lawrence, Federico Garcia Lorca, Albert Camus et al). In 2010, she was awarded with the Academy of Athens Award for the collection Winter in Leros (Melani publications, Athens, 2009). She lives in Leros.
