Lightdrinker

The Sky
2015

translated by Amy Mims

You come to consume me
knowing that I thirst for you
like an illusory glass of water
trapping the Sun in its little space

You come
as you came your first time
with your eyelids closed
wasting your ineffable beauty
on my shy gaze

With certainty I choose the absolute
to measure my own strength
and likewise to fail

Despite all pain-killers
I prefer to listen without protection
for the sound of your gowns returning

With however many wounds find me
with these I will depart
